Stop talking. Start planting.
Cure for the climate crisis has been discovered - the tree!
Forests are one of the most important carbon sinks. This means that they bind the greenhouse gas that would otherwise heat up the earth even more. Despite this great role of the forest, we have two problems:
- Firstly, too many forests are being destroyed. This has to be stopped! We must also protect the rainforest, which is a valuable air filter.
- Secondly, we need new forests. There is plenty of space for that. Although, there are some 3000 billion trees growing today, as this study shows, there is still room for 1,000 billion.
That is why MoveAgain will plant a tree for every job we do!
It is not our goal to just watch and later regret for not doing anything. In order to take our responsibility towards the environment even more seriously, we will have one tree planted for each order we carry out and additionally for each purchase from one of our cooperation partners listed here. These trees will be planted and managed by the UN and Club of Rome supported organization "Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation" with the project "Trillion Tree" and the next generation of each country will be trained in forestry-related issues. This has convinced us - we are going to participate!
You can follow the progress of the number of trees planted in the MoveAgain forest here on the tree counter.
Plant-for-the-Planet
The Plant-for-the-Planet children and youth initiative was launched in January 2007. At the end of a school presentation on the climate crisis, Felix Finkbeiner, who was nine years old at the time, asked his fellow pupils: "Let us plant a million trees in every country on earth! The aim of the children and youth initiative is to plant 1'000 billion trees worldwide. Trees are the cheapest and most effective means of binding CO2 and thus provide mankind with a time joker to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero and mitigate the climate crisis. This has now been proven for the first time by a scientific study conducted by researchers at ETH Zurich.
In 2011, the United Nations Environment Programme, (UNEP), handed over the traditional Billion Tree Campaign to Plant-for-the-Planet - and with it the official World Tree Counter. In keeping with the ambitious goal of the children, Plant-for-the-Planet has now declared the Trillion Tree Campaign.
On the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, Plant-for-the-Planet has been planting trees on 22,500 hectares of reforestation land owned by the foundation since 2015. More than five million trees have already been planted and up to 20,000 new trees per day have been added since the 2020 planting season. The planting project shows how easy it is to plant trees efficiently on a large scale. With its own campaigns like "Stop talking. Start planting" motivates the initiative to plant trees. At academies, children train each other to become ambassadors for climate justice - over 88,000 children and young people from 74 countries are already involved!
